Joss Stone's Jared Leto Crush Continues Her Downward Spiral

British soul singer Joss Stone may have once been crowned the sexiest vegetarian of the year, but there's nothing sexy about her latest crush.

Stone admitted to an American television show that she has a huge crush on 30 Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto.

"I think he's simply gorgeous, so sexy," Stone gushed. "He would be my ideal date."

Naturally, in true arrogant Leto style, he said that he's never heard of the chart-topping singer and told friends that he has no idea who she is.

This is the latest piece of damaging gossip to be revealed about Stone, who has recently come under fire for her brazen behaviour and wild antics both on and off stage.

Just before this shred of information hit the gossip columns, pictures of Stone in a short skirt — possibly without any underwear — popped up online. This was after she told Q magazine, "I would never wear a short skirt with no knickers because that would be silly. If you do that it's basically like saying you're a slut. And I'm not."

This last statement comes as a bit of a shock since producer Dallas Austin (Madonna, Michael Jackson, Pink) warned Stone in an interview with Rowdy TV to stop "fucking for tracks." Austin claims the 19-year-old Brit-born singer sleeps around to get artists on her album. She's reported to be currently dating Raphael Saadiq, one of the producers she worked with on her new album, Introducing Joss Stone.

Stone's diva-like behaviour, including showing up two hours late for a gig and giving an impromptu press conference to a group of security guards she mistook for reporters, have close friends and family members concerned. Sources close to the self-confessed dope fiend think that her split from longtime producer-boyfriend Beau Dozier 18 months ago, and her lonely living situation in the U.S., may be the reason for her Lindsay Lohan-like actions.

Looks like Jared Leto won’t be appearing on Jimmy Kimmel’s “Favorite Rock Stars” list anytime soon.  Leto, the frontman of Goth/Pop Rock outfit 30 Second to Mars, appeared as a guest on Kimmel’s show. After the show, Kimmel told Stuff magazine that he would not want Leto back on the show.

“He was so insufferably satisfied with himself that I wanted to strangle him,” remarked Kimmel.  Apparently Jimmy Kimmel had to hide his disdain for Leto for the sake of the show. 

Kimmel joins Elijah Wood in the ever-growing group of Leto haters.  Apparently Wood told Spin magazine that it was lame to go from actor to rocker, and he would never do such a thing.  “I mean have you heard 30 Seconds to Mars?  They suck!” Wood said in regards to the actor-turned-rockstar’s group.

HIM CANCELS TOUR DATES TO RECORD NEW ALBUM

HIM have announced the cancellation of their fall tour. The band will not be playing scheduled U.S. shows in favor of entering the recording studio (see canceled dates below).

HIM hope fans will not be let down, but rather will look forward to seeing them back on the road with new songs to share. The band have been steadily writing material for their forthcoming album and are eager to start preliminary rehearsal of very early tracks. HIM have not been able to test any new material due to their busy touring and promotion schedule. This fall will be the first opportunity for the band members to talk and work out new HIM material for a 2007 release!

Singer Ville Valo explains the band's decision: "Our dearest fellowship of the Heartagram, you haven't seen the last of us yet. We just want to keep it fresh for you and stump you with new material. I didn't feel that I could do that without rehearsing some of this stuff that's stuck in my heart. We're happy to have new fans come aboard the ship, but I feel we've got to keep it exciting and new. We've started writing and I can't wait for you guys to hear what we're working on."

The band have spent the last year touring non-stop behind Dark Light. Most recently completing a successful spring U.S. headlining tour with stops at Jimmy Kimmel Live and Last Call With Carson Daly along the way.

Kerrang! magazine (web site) recently spoke to H.I.M. frontman Ville Valo about some of the dark rumors that have surrounded him of late. In February he spent a night in a Helsinki jail after allegedly threatening to kill his neighbor. Prior to that he was drugged and robbed in a Minneapolis bar, raising question marks however unjustified over the company he was keeping. His home life has been no less eventful. In October 2005 he sustained a punctured eardrum during an impassioned argument with his fiancée Jonna Nygren (note: A Finnish tabloid reported last week that Ville and Jonna have now broken off their engagement). A couple of excerpts from the Kerrang! interview follow:

Kerrang!: Tell me about the night you were drugged. How much of it do you remember?

Ville: "We had a night off and I went out drinking. This random dude said, 'Let's go to a bar,' so I followed him. It was an R&B kind of place. I remember they were playing 50 CENT. Next thing I know, I'm waking up in a dirty little brothel. The guy had taken £200 from me."

Kerrang!: Thank God nothing worse happened.

Ville: "Well, I know I wasn't raped. But I was really shaken up for a couple of days. It was like the worst hangover of my life. Shaken and disturbed. I don't know what drug this guy put in my drink. Do they have Rohypnol in America? It could have been a lot worse. At least I didn't wake up in a bath full of ice with my liver missing"

Kerrang!: These allegations about you attacking someone in Finland. What was that about?

Ville: "[Long sigh] I'm still going through legal proceedings, so I have to be really careful what I say about this. It was like a bar fight. You know, when you're pissed off with somebody and you're being stupid and insecure and a fucking twat."

Kerrang!: How did it start?

Ville: "I heard through a really reliable source that a neighbor had been saying stuff about me and my fiancée, calling us junkies, worthless pieces of shit, stuff like that. I was really drunk and so tired from all the touring. Going back home and hearing that out of drunken madness I went down, kicked the door in and punched that fellow in the face. And punched him again. There was a vase by the door and I threw it, smashed it into pieces.

"It was so ridiculous. He was saying we were doing lots of drugs and having noisy parties. I don't even have a stereo! There's also the possibility that I was just being a drunken bastard. All the gruesome details will come out eventually. It was wrong of me. I'm not a violent person but everybody's got a breaking point. I was stressed out and I didn't feel I could resolve that situation in a verbal way."

Kerrang!: People were shocked because it seemed so out of character.

Ville: "[Wearily] Things are not necessarily so good back at home when you're wiped out. When you're done, on various levels, and suffering from writer's block. I was also suffering from insomnia, which I've never had before. I was sleeping an hour a night for eight weeks. But I don't want to make that mistake again. I'd rather slash people with words."
